I took advantage of the nice weather today to take a circuitous route into work and walked around the Shiba Koen area a bit, taking in Zojo-ji ~ a major temple complex in the shadow of Tokyo Tower. The temple has been on this site for almost 500 years, and it was the temple of the Tokugawa family in the Edo period, though it has been destroyed on more than one occasion in wars and other disasters. The grounds are impressive even today, though it seems that they were more extensive in the past.
